The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 the Doncaster Cultural Education Partnership staged an event on the 27th May involving 4 Doncaster schools. The DCEP partners hosted a carousel of arts and cultural workshops at their venues.

Doncaster Library (DGLAM) ran a journalism event, Cast held a visual arts workshop, darts ran drama workshops, Doncaster Stories held a poetry and illustration event, and Royal Opera House ran dance workshops. The day ended with an ensemble performance by the young people on Sir Nigel Gresley Square.

On the 28th May a youth music festival was held on Sir Nigel Gresley Square from 10am-8.15pm which saw a variety of young people performing an eclectic mix of music including rock, classical and jazz.

Throughout both events the young people involved were enthusiastic & engaged, and the DCEP received excellent feedback from all involved.
